John R. Miller

We caught up with John R. Miller at Lucinda’s before the listening party for his new album The Great Unknowing. He played two songs from the album, and we hung out. Miller is the kind of guy you’d want to have a beer with, so we had a beer. I had many. “Day drinkin' / If it's one, it may as well be two / Day drinkin' / I just run outta reasons not to.” Well said, Mr. Miller.

The Knicks had won the championship less than 24 hours earlier, the World Cup was in full swing, New York City was buzzing at historic levels, and we buzzed right along with it. Even though the city was on fire and flying high on sports that day, John had no trouble capturing our attention during this session, and captivating the audience at Lu's during his listening party later that evening.
